CUR3ES, alias Kieron one of my favourite collagist,
invited me to take part in the World Wide Blog Hop by answering 4 questions about my artwork and then inviting 3 other artists to do the same. Thank you my dear friend.1.
What am I working on?Currently I’m not working so much, cause I’ve not enough space at home!!! The only moment when I can use my scissor is in the evening: I take my prints, some magazines and I go on the street, to cut and to sell. I’m studying an artwork for an artist from Manchester who is ending is first Lp of sci-fi electro industrial music, I like these kind of international collaboration.2
. How does my work differ from others of its genre?I never studied art if not in school. I don’t believe in having a well-defined style, maybe a general trait that is constantly changing: each collage is part of a long process of personal study on the perception of shapes, colors and how, assembling the pieces, change the harmony of the whole (the whole is more than the sum of the individual parts). My collages express my inner feelings, my less/more deepest thoughts and sometimes it seems to me to understand the work that I have done only after a long time and in relation to others I have done.3
. Why do I write/create what I do?I really have to make collages: it relax myself, is a way to detach myself from the outside and to go inside my dreams, my feelings, my deepest thoughts. This possibility to play so easily with the perception with opening a big eye inside me, letting free the imagination is all my love for this art. It is also a way to earn a bit of money, but I don’t want to feel like a professional artist (I’m not professional at all, my life inside and outside is chaos). I wanna do lots of things in my life, collage is just one of this.4
. How does your writing/creating process work?
I’m full of cutted pieces, faces, planets, tv, stairs, landscapes and they are all scattered in a lot of different boxes. When I can, I take some images which in that moment catch my eye and I start to mix and think. But as always when I start a collage it changes so much times that at the end it has no more of the started pieces!
Thanks all :)
I will announce name of my 3 artists later.
